California Insurance Prelicense Education

Course Hours: 52 hrs for Fire & Casualty Agent-Broker and/or Life Agent, 20 hrs for Personal Lines Broker-Agent, 12 hrs for bail related agent

Course Topics: 12 hours minimum of Ethics and California Insurance Code.8 hours of Annuity if annuities will be sold. 4 hours of 24 hour coverage courses if 24 Hour Coverage will be sold. 3 hours of flood insurance if flood insurance will be sold. The remaining hours can be any approved topics.

Your Department of Insurance has approved ExamFX as a prelicensing correspondence course. By completing this course as directed, you will satisfy your full prelicensing requirement. To obtain your certificate of completion, please complete the following steps:
a. Study the material for each chapter. You must study for 40 hours if you are taking the Life and Health course. If you are taking the California Code and Ethics course, you must study for 12 hours.
b. Take the quiz at the end of each chapter. You must score 75% on each chapter quiz before you can proceed to the next chapter.
c. Your certificate will be processed in 2 business days and will then be delivered to you. Note that your certificate will not be processed until you have passed the last chapter and have spent the required amount of time in the course.

California Insurance Continuing Education

Course Hours: 25 hours for first 4 12 month periods, then 30 hours per 2 year renewal cycle for life or fire & casualty lines. 10 hours annually for personal lines

Course Topics: 4 hours of Ethics (2 hrs for Personal Lines). 4 hours of annuities training if annuities are sold. 8 hours of Long Term Care for those who sell Long Term Care Insurance. 8 hours of specific partnership Long Term Care per renewal. 4 hours of 24 hour coverage courses
